Our Planet is in Serious Peril! Every year our planet loses 10 Billion trees due to human activity.

844 million people don’t have clean water. 31% of schools don’t have clean water. Every minute a newborn dies from an infection caused by lack of safe water and an unclean environment.

2.3 billion people don’t have a decent toilet. Diarrhea caused by dirty water and poor toilets kills a child under 5 every 2 minutes.

Hunger kills more people each year than AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis combined. Around 9 million people die of hunger and hunger-related diseases every year, more than double the lives lost to AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis in 2016.

Step 1. Plant Moringa Tree Woodlands starting in some of the worst affected areas on Earth. Moringa can provide a mostly complete nutritional diet as moringa leaves and seeds are highly nutritious and many other parts of the tree are known to have medicinal qualities. Moringa trees can also provide safe drinking water, (from using the Moringa seeds to purify raw water) wood for cooking, shade to counter global warming, soil stability in deforested areas, carbon removal from the atmosphere, and sustainable income streams for families in need. The Moringa tree grows at an incredible pace with some trees reaching 20′ tall in a single year with proper care. Now you can understand why this tree has earned is nickname "The Miracle Tree".

Step 2. Provide Rocket Stove manufacturing startup kits and training to families starting in the worst affected areas around the world. Rocket stoves in combination with burning raw wood instead of charcoal and using a pot skirt can reduce fuel costs of the many families who depend on charcoal for cooking by up to 95%. Providing families with rocket stove manufacturing systems can not only provide them with a sustainable source of income through the sales of rocket stoves but it can also save them money by lowering the cost of cooking fuel. The funds generated by stove sales and savings from using less wood for cooking can be used to improve their diet, improve sanitation and provide the funds to send their children to school. Another benefit is a lowered risk of health issues from exposure to toxic smoke from open fires or poorly designed cookstoves. Rocket stoves provide a clean burn of charcoal or raw wood and greatly reduce the carbon emissions normally produced by cooking with charcoal or wood.

Step 3. Provide compost toilet manufacturing startup kits to families starting in the worst affected areas around the world. This can provide a sustainable source of income through the sale of compost toilet systems locally. Using personal compost toilet systems can greatly reduce the death rate of local children under 5 from diarrhea contracted from contaminated community toilets. The waste that's collected can be safely composted and used as fertilizer for local Moringa tree woodlands. Another positive benefit is that local groundwater will not be affected by in-ground septic tanks nor will above ground water be contaminated by human waste.

Step 4. Our local tree planting partners sign agreements to provide the first 100 seeds produced annually by every single tree we plant to other local tree planters free of charge. With this system, every single tree can provide enough seeds to plant up to 10,000,000,000 trees within a 5 year period. Big global changes from our humble work here at Woodland Wear!
